Chapter members, aged 7-17, go on monthly adventures to explore STEM with fun, hands-on activities led by real experts. These events often occur at the workplaces of our STEM experts, giving girls and gender-diverse youth a behind-the-scenes view of a variety of STEM fields, allowing them to experience the lab and field environment for themselves.
Chapter members receive an email 2 weeks in advance, providing the topic, date, time, and location of the next event. Most events are 1.5 to 2 hours long and occur on weekends or, occasionally, on weeknights.

Have you ever experienced a tornado? Well, we have! We went inside Western’s wind tunnel and saw it in action. Then, we built and tested our own windmills.
We toured a veterinary anatomy lab and the Barker Veterinary Museum where we examined and identified samples from several species, including hippos!
We taste-tested different ice creams and had the opportunity to use a semi-electric ice cream maker at the Food Science Department at the University of Guelph.
We learned about sustainability, renewable energy, solar power, and solar cars with the Blue Sky Solar Race Car team! We even built our own model solar race cars!
From hydraulics to ropes, respiratory gear to ladders, and medical PPE to hoses, firefighters are trained on many tools. Firefighter Cheryl Hunt showed us how and when to use them!
This immersive experience led us into a virtual reality and animation lab! We used state-of-the-art equipment to learn about and create animations!
Did you know that there are organisms other than bees that pollinate? We went on a scavenger hunt to explore our community gardens and learn about various plant and pollinator species from the City of Guelph experts themselves!
Did you know that scientists use 3D modelling in the space industry? It can save time and resources associated with manufacturing and testing. We used Tinkercad to code our own 3D models.
