Genes in a Bottle
DNA is the genetic information inside our cells that makes us who we are. It provides instructions for how to make the body, like the blueprints for a house. Normally, DNA is invisible to us, because it's so small. At this event, you'll learn about DNA with a researcher, and actually see some of your own DNA! With a procedure used in biotechnology research applications, we will extract DNA from our cheek cells, and bottle it in cool helix-shaped necklaces.
