Cancer is a genetic disease that affects lives of many people. Cancer starts when cells misbehave due to changes in the DNA. DNA is the genetic information inside our cells that makes us who we are. It provides instructions for how to make the body, like the blueprints for a house. Normally, DNA is invisible to us, because it's so small. At this event, you'll learn all about cancer and DNA with cancer researcher Dr. Nikolina Radulovich, and actually see some of your own DNA! With a procedure used in biotechnology research applications, we will extract DNA from our cheek cells, and bottle it in cool helix-shaped necklaces.
