Did you know that the health of people, animals, and the environment are all connected? In this session, we will learn about how disease can spread between water, wildlife, pets, and humans. Discover the impact of the environment on the health of us and our furry friends, and explore the connections that shape the well-being of the world we live in. Expert: Carys Vyn is a PhD student at the University of Guelph, specializing in Epidemiology and One Health. Her research focuses on identifying social and environmental risk factors for leptospirosis, a disease affecting animals and humans. Prior to beginning her PhD, Carys completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry and worked as a veterinary assistant. She is passionate about improving animal health through research and education.
