Crackles, gurgles, and rhonchi, oh my! These are the sounds your breathing makes when you have a respiratory infection. In this session, we will make model lungs to explore what really happens in our lungs and airways when we take a breath—and how things change when we get sick!

Expert: Peyman Heidari is an upper-year medical student in Ontario. Prior to entering a Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, Peyman also completed an honours degree in medical sciences, a graduate degree in neuroscience, and has several years of experience conducting biomedical research in both a wet laboratory setting and with human research participants. Peyman’s professional philosophy centres on advocacy and equity in STEM and healthcare.
