Send your Code to Space!
Calling all young coders! We want YOU to take part in the European Space Agency's Astro Pi Challenge! We'll teach everyone -- complete beginners included -- to write a simple program which will take a humidity reading on the International Space Station. You'll customize it with a personalized message for the astronauts aboard. For participants aged 14 or younger, your completed program will actually be run in space! You will also receive a special certificate showing where exactly the ISS was when your program ran!
Preparation: The coding can be done in a web browser. To participate, you will need a computer (don't use a tablet or mobile device) with an internet connection.
Expert: Chimira Andres works for the European Space Agency. She completed a M Sc. in Geophysics and Planetary Science at Western University, and is also the President of SEDS Canada, a non-profit student space organization.
