Oakville-November2022 – Canadian Association for Girls In Science (CAGIS)

How do researchers test clothing, vehicles, and more in EXTREME conditions? They build labs that create snow, ice, wind, and more… Visit Toronto Rehab’s Challenging Environmental Assessment Laboratory (CEAL), a group of labs that deal with harsh weather and challenging environments, and learn how scientists work to help people live longer and healthier lives. Try designing your own slip-resistant footwear, visit a cold chamber that creates slippery winter conditions and a VR chamber that mimics the busy streets of Toronto, and see an indoor car that uses the same technology as NASA to simulate driving conditions.

This event is for girls, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming youth.
