Oakville-January-2023 – Canadian Association for Girls In Science (CAGIS)

DNA is the genetic information inside our cells that makes us who we are. It provides instructions for how to make your body, like the blueprints for a house. Normally, DNA is invisible to us, because it’s so small. At this event, you’ll learn about DNA with researcher Dr. Nikolina Radulovich, and actually see some of your own DNA! With a procedure used in biotechnology research applications, we will extract DNA from our cheek cells, and bottle it in cool helix-shaped necklaces.

This event is for girls, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming youth.
